Description
- High-quality CVG mushroom substrate, perfect for cultivating a diverse range of gourmet and medicinal mushrooms.
- Formulated with a balanced blend of coconut coir, vermiculite, and gypsum for optimal water retention and texture.
- Undergoes professional pasteurization and preparation processes to ensure a contamination-free and ready-to-use product.
- Suitable for multiple cultivation techniques and adaptable to various mushroom species.
Benefits
Optimal Moisture Retention
Hydrated to field capacity to maintain optimal moisture levels, promoting healthy mycelial growth.
Convenient
Pre-pasteurized and ready to use straight out of the bag, saving time and effort.
Versatile Use
Can be utilized as both a casing layer or a substrate for monotubs & grow bags.
High Yield Potential
Allows for abundant mushroom production when mixed with proper grain spawn.
Extended Shelf-life
Maintains its quality for up to 4 weeks at room temperature and can be stored for several months in the fridge or freezer.
How to Use
Prepare Your Setup:
-
- Sanitize the growing area, containers, and tools to minimize the risk of contamination.
- Adjust environmental conditions like ventilation, temperature, and humidity in the cultivation area to be suitable for mushroom growth.
Mixing with Grain Spawn:
-
- Mix the CVG substrate with fully colonized grain spawn in your chosen container, such as monotubs or grow bags, ensuring even distribution.
- Once mixed, maintain the appropriate conditions for mycelial growth and development.
Using as a Casing Layer:
-
- Apply an even layer of the CVG substrate over the colonized substrate as a casing layer.
- Maintain high humidity and adequate fresh air exchange to encourage fruiting.
Storage:
-
- If storing at room temperature, use within 4 weeks for best results.
- Alternately, this substrate can keep for several months in the fridge or freezer.
TIP:
When mixing CVG substrate with spawn, the ratio can vary depending on the cultivator’s preference, mushroom species, and specific cultivation goals. However, a commonly used ratio is 1:1 or 1:2 of spawn to CVG substrate.
A 1:1 ratio means you are using equal parts spawn and substrate. This ratio provides a balanced environment, allowing for quick colonization and robust yields. It’s a suitable starting point for beginners or for those trying a new mushroom strain.
A 1:2 ratio means you are using one part spawn to two parts substrate. This ratio allows for potentially larger yields but may take longer to fully colonize, given the greater volume of substrate.
It’s crucial to ensure thorough mixing to distribute the spawn evenly throughout the substrate, allowing for uniform mycelial growth and colonization. Adjustments can be made based on observations and preferences after experimenting with different ratios to find what works best for your specific needs and conditions.
