5-lb All-In-One Grow Bag Instructions
🧪 Step 1: Inoculation
-
Use a liquid culture (LC) or spore syringe with a sterile needle.
-
Shake your syringe to distribute spores or mycelium evenly.
-
Sanitize the injection port area and needle with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
-
Inject 5–10 mL through the self-healing injection port.

(Same process applies to the 5-lb bags!)
📝 Optional but recommended: Label your bag with the strain and date of inoculation.
🌡 Step 2: Incubation
-
Store the bag in a dark, clean space at 70–78°F (21–26°C).
-
Avoid areas with large temperature swings or direct sunlight.
-
Do not open the bag—your filter patch provides gas exchange.
⏳ Colonization usually takes 2–4 weeks. You’ll see white mycelium spreading throughout the substrate.
💡 Pro Tip: Once the grain is colonized (but before full substrate colonization), you can gently break up and remix the bag to speed up total colonization. Wait until about 30–50% colonized before doing this.

🍄 Step 3: Fruiting
Once the bag is fully colonized (completely white), it’s time to fruit.
You have two options:
✅ Option 1: In-Bag Fruiting (Easiest)
- Make a small X-cut or slit in the plastic on the side or top of the bag.
- Mist the inside of the bag once per day to maintain humidity.
- Place the bag somewhere with indirect light (natural daylight or a lamp).
- Maintain a room temperature of 65–75°F (18–24°C).
🍄 Option 2: Bulk Fruiting Chamber (More Yield, More Setup)
- Cut open the top of the bag and place the colonized block in a monotub, shoebox, or mini greenhouse with high humidity and airflow.
- Mist and fan as needed, or automate your setup with fans/humidifiers.
- Aim for 95% humidity and plenty of fresh air exchange.

📆 Step 4: Harvesting
-
Mushrooms are ready to harvest when the caps begin to flatten out (just before they fully open).
-
Gently twist and pull from the base or use clean scissors.
-
Don’t wait too long—overripe mushrooms drop spores and reduce yield.
After harvest, you may get a second or even third flush. To encourage more growth:
-
Let the block rest for 2–3 days.
-
Mist heavily to rehydrate.
-
Keep humidity high and light consistent.
🛠 Troubleshooting & Tips
❌ Contamination?
If you see green, black, or pink spots—or smell something sour—it’s likely contamination. Remove the bag from your grow area and discard it.
💤 Slow Growth?
Check your temperature. Too cold = stalled growth. Too hot = contamination risk. Keep it in that 70–78°F sweet spot.
💦 Not Fruiting?
Your bag might be too dry. Increase misting or add it to a fruiting chamber.
